Advertiser Photo Questions and Answers

Please refer to the following questions regarding advertiser photos.

How do I add photos to my advertisement?

The quickest way to add photos is to login to your Advertiser account and then click on Edit Listing / Photos in the My Account navigation on the left.  Then select Upload photos from the options on the page.  This option requires that you are able to re-size and optimize your photos yourself.  Please read this entire page for more details on sizing and uploading your photos.

If you would rather we re-size and upload your photos, the fastest way to get photos to us is to email them in .jpg format to us at onlinebridal@gmail.com.  Logos may be in .gif format but we highly recommend .jpg format for photos.  Please allow 3 to 5 business days (Monday - Friday) for your photos to be uploaded after you email them and 10 business days in January, February, July, November, and December.

If you need photos scanned you must mail them along with a check for $25 made payable to IBS Design, LLC to the following address:

IBS Design, LLC

P.O. Box 54518

Atlanta, Georgia 30308

How long does it take to get pictures up after I have submitted them?

If you upload your photos yourself through your Advertiser Account (see next few questions), the photos should appear in your account automatically.  If you don’t see your photos immediately you may need to refresh your page because the old photos may be cached (or saved) in your browser for faster loading.

If you email your photos to us to upload, we generally try to upload them in the same business day. However we are not open on weekends or holidays so we generally ask that you allow 3 to 5 days for photo uploads and up to 10 business days in July, November, December, January and February.

Image Type:      .jpg or.gif

Maximum HEIGHT = 200 pixels

Maximum File Size = 15k

Image Border:  None

Photos ARE NOT Logos.

Logos that do not meet the above size specifications will be removed immediately.

What are the size specifications of the Photo Gallery Photos that go on my profile page?

All accounts include 3 “Photo Gallery Photos”.  The Photo Gallery Photos appear on your Advertiser Profile page and, depending on the type of vendor, in some of our photo galleries.  We do not have separate photo galleries for all types of vendors only the obvious photo gallery candidates such as cakes, florals, photographer etc.

Currently we allow 3 large photos with thumbnails to be uploading.  We are building in the ability to add more photos but that option is not available at this time.

The Upload form will automatically add images to your photo gallery and it will OVERWRITE your existing images.

Image Limitations and Requirements

You must adhere to the following maximum image sizes and requirements. Images may be smaller than the maximum size limitations. We check all uploaded images and reserve the right to remove any that are too large.

Image Type:  .jpg

Photo Gallery Images:

Maximum WIDTH = 400 pixels

Maximum HEIGHT = 600 pixels

Maximum File Size = 80k

Photo Gallery Thumbnails:

Required WIDTH = 125 pixels

Maximum HEIGHT = 250 pixels

Maximum File Size = 15k

Photos that do not meet the above size specifications may be removed at our discretion.

Logos ARE NOT for the Photo Galleries. Photo Gallery photos are photos of your work. If you wish to display a logo with your listing, please refer to the Add Photo/Logo section.

YOU MUST UPLOAD A THUMBNAIL PHOTO FOR EVERY PHOTO GALLERY PHOTO - Your photo gallery may include 3 large photos and each photo must have a corresponding thumbnail that is 125 pixels in width. Feel free to crop your thumbnails however you wish but they must be 125 pixels in width.  If you do not upload a thumbnail photo for each large photo, your profile will appear with the red X broken image symbol for each picture missing a thumbnail.  This symbol does not look professional so please be sure to create and upload your thumbnails.

I uploaded my photos but now I see a small red X instead of my photos.  What am I doing wrong?

If you see a small red X (the broken image icon) in your account or on your ad/profile after you have uploaded your photos or logo…

This symbol could mean a few things.

1.       Most typically we see this image on vendor profile pages because the vendor did not upload the required thumbnail images of their larger photos.  Please re-read the section on Photo Gallery Photos to create and upload your thumbnail photos.

2.       If #1 is not your problem, you may have saved your image in a format that is not Web browser compatible.

a.       We HIGHLY recommend you save your images in .jpg format (often referred to as JPEG), which is best for viewing photos.

b.       Photos in .gif format do not look good on the Web however some “text-only” logos may be best optimized in .gif format.

c.       JPEGS MUST BE SAVED IN RGB COLOR to show up on the Web.  CMYK color is often used for printing, but JPEGS saved in CMYK color will not work on the Web.  You need to be sure to change your JPEGS to RGB color before saving.  To do so in Adobe Photoshop:

                                                               i.      Open Your Image in Adobe Photoshop

ii.      From the Image menu at the top, select Mode

iii.      From the Mode menu, select RGB color

iv.      Re-save your image for the Web in .jpg format.

3.       If neither #1 nor #2 is your problem, your image may have been too large of a file size (over 80K) to properly upload.  Very large images could cause our system to time-out during upload causing an incomplete image to upload therefore showing as a broken image on the site.  Be sure to adhere to our size guidelines.  If you have trouble optimizing your photos for the Web, see our section on Using Adobe Photoshop to Optimize Images for the Web.

4.       Finally if none of the above options seem to be your problem, email your images along with the problem you are experiencing to customer support.  We will do our best to upload your images for you within 3 to 5 business days.

Image Limitations and Requirements

Image Type:      .jpg

Image Size:

REQUIRED WIDTH = 115 pixels

REQUIRED HEIGHT = 79 pixels

Maximum File Size = 10k

Image Border:  1 pixel grey border

HINT: Photos that are close up on a smiling bride and/or groom OR up close photos of your work (be it a cake, bouquet, etc.) work well in this spot since it is such a small size.

I keep getting an error when I try to upload the add-on Listing Photo but I am within the size specifications, what is wrong?

The Add-on Listing Photo has to be EXACTLY 125 x 125 in pixels.  It will not upload at any size larger OR smaller.  125 x 84 will not work because it isn’t 125 x 125.

If you have an image that you would like to use that is not a perfect 125 x 125 square, simply add a white background to the image to make the final image 125 x 125.

To do this in Adobe Photoshop:

  1. Open your image in Adobe Photoshop
  2. Make sure your background color is white.  The background color is indicated in the Adobe Photoshop Tools palette window as shown at left.
  3. If the background color is not white, click on the Background Color square in the Adobe Photoshop Tools palette window, you will get the Color Picker pop-up window.
  4. Select the white color in the top left and click OK.
  5. From the Image menu at the top select Canvas Size to bring up the Canvas Size pop-up.
  6. Change your Height (or in your case you could be changing the width) to 125 pixels.
  7. Click on OK.
  8. Re-save your image for the Web in .jpg format.

RECEPTION SITES definitely need to upload this photo because we are currently using it for Reception Sites.

The form will automatically add a Small 75 x 75 Thumbnail Image to this account and it will OVERWRITE any existing image.

Image Limitations and Requirements

You must adhere to the following image sizes and requirements. We check all uploaded images and reserve the right to remove or re-size any that do not fit our size requirements.

Image Type:      .jpg

Image Size:       REQUIRED WIDTH = 75 pixels

REQUIRED HEIGHT = 75 pixels

Maximum File Size = 10k

Image Border:  1 pixel grey border
